HSI GARLAND
8th Grade Class Info
Homework assignments will be posted here. There may be times when you need to watch a video and take notes, so pay close attention to the homework board in class.
Most if not all class activities and labs will be recorded in your science notebook. You will keep notes from homework in here as well.
Notebooks count as a journal grade and will monitored regularyly.
When classwork consists of a handout or worksheet, a blank copy of it will be posted here; otherwise, it will be pictured and placed in the ISN link.
Science Assignments
It is your responsibility to check this page when you are absent. Each category link will take you to dated entries.
Once the entire class has taken a quiz or test, it will be posted here.
Remember, you will be able to make up points by attending two tutorials and then taking a second assessment. You will receive a grade of 70, unless you do not pass; at this time, you will be given the higher of the two grades.
Although labs will be recorded in your ISN, the a blank copy of the lab activity will be posted here as well. When you are absent, it will be your responsiblity to make an appointed time to complete your lab.
All Science Fair documents will be posted here. If you lose your copy of the assigned form, it will be your responsibility to check this link.
The first ten minutes of class we will complete a science starter. Science starters are warm-up review questions and activities. They will be kept in your binder and will be due each Friday.
Because the warmup will show understanding of your homework for the week, this will count as a weekly homework grade.
